Dining rewards
Compare dining cards using reviewed rates—not a generic ranking
The cards below are ordered from published database results. Check caps, enrollment, eligible channels, and how the merchant codes before relying on a category rate.
Browse reviewed cards for dining credit cards. “Best” depends on your spending, annual-fee tolerance and redemption choices.
Decision checklist
- Compare the annual fee with realistic recurring value.
- Confirm category caps, merchant coding and booking restrictions.
- Check current terms directly with the issuer before applying.
CreditCardCompanion does not predict approval and does not request bank credentials.
How to use this comparison
1. Start with your normal spending
Estimate a full year of purchases you would make anyway. A larger category rate has limited value when it applies to little of your actual spending.
2. Check what counts
Merchant coding can separate restaurants, cafés, bars, delivery platforms, hotel restaurants, and entertainment venues. The issuer—not the item purchased—determines whether a transaction qualifies.
3. Apply caps and fees
Model spending above a reward cap at the applicable fallback rate. Subtract the annual fee and count credits only when they replace normal expenses.
Before choosing a card
- Open the card profile and review its published category terms.
- Confirm enrollment requirements, spending caps, excluded channels, and current annual fee.
- Test uncertain stores with the Merchant Coding Checker; past coding is useful context, not a guarantee.
- Compare the result with a simple no-fee alternative and avoid spending more merely to earn rewards.
